This cottage had planning permission to be gutted and extended to form a holiday house but after our clients bought it they realised that they had found a gem. They approached Historic Scotland, who A listed it as a building of national importance.

Under the corrugated iron was an intact heather thatch roof; there was a ‘hanging lum’ chimney – lined in wooden boards, and extremely rare; the box beds still had straw lining; 110 year old newspapers lined the walls.
